I walked into Mr. Bush's room on the first day of school and sat down with no knowledge how to take a professional photo. I took photos, with my phone. Mr. Bush asked a series of questions about digital cameras that I had no idea what they meant. On the first day our class already learned how to take a picture in automatice mood. I left the class that day with ease. Throughout the next few weeks, we slowly started taking photos around campus. I had no idea how to take good photos when all I could do was click the button. My photos came out plain without any use of artistic ability.
As time grew on, Mr. Bush gave us more freedom to use our imaginations to create more quality photos. He taught us about the exposure triangle and how you can use different ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed to have more appealing photos in different environments. In darker placed, we learned to use a slower Shutter Speed and a larger ISO. In a lighter place, we use a lower ISO and higher Shutter Speed. This amazed me at the time because I did not think that you could use different settings in your camera to make each image much better than automatice mode.
After we took photos around the school it was time to start taking photos on our own time. Instead of going around the school during out hour to try to find an interesting photo, we were given a sheet with multiple topics and subjects we could take photos of. I was not used to the fact of taking my own photos and submitting them as a grade. The first week I was fortunate enough to go the a small town up-north to take photos. I had many oppertunities to fnd greaat subjects to take photos of. During class we were starting to use a few applications on our computers like photoshop and bridge. We use bridge to import our photos and photoshop to edit them. I had no prier knowledge of any of them. I was very intimidated and had no idea what to expect. Mr. Bush gave us easy photoshop assignments to prepare ourselves for own own photos that we will have to edit in the future.
During the end of the class I was amazed at my improvement. i felt that I stated taking very interesting photos and most of them have turned out very impressive. I have took this class very seriously and it has paid off. I am so glad that I spent so much time on each assignment because i can really see the improvement that I have made over the past few months.
